Wesley Trent Snipes (born July 31, 1962) is an actor who plays Maris Morlak on Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Biography[]
Wesley Snipes is best known for playing Blade in Blade, Blade II, and Blade: Trinity. He was a producer on all three films as well as serving as martial arts choreographer on Blade and fight coordinator on Blade II. When Mahershala Ali was announced to take over the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans of Snipes expressed their disappointment but Snipes offered his support.
He has been training in martial arts since the age of twelve, earning a fifth dan black belt in Shotokan Karate and second dan black belt in Hapkido.
His New York City apartment was destroyed when the World Trade Center's Twin Towers collapsed during the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. Luckily for him, he was on the West Coast at the time.
On April 24th, 2008, Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for willful failure to file federal income tax returns. Snipes reported to federal prison on December 9th, 2010 to begin his three-year sentence, and was held at McKean Federal Correctional Institution, a federal prison in Pennsylvania. Snipes was released from federal prison on April 2nd, 2013, finishing his period of house arrest on July 19th, 2013.
