Vibranium is a rare metal that is known for absorbing vibrations and being nearly indestructible.
History[]
The metal is similar to adamantium.
At some point, the African nation of Wakanda found a large deposit of vibranium underneath its lands. The Wakandans refined the vibranium to greatly advance their technology.
However, vibranium was highly sought after by a number of people who wished to use it. Often they would attack Wakanda to obtain some.
Captain America's shield is made of vibranium.
When Man-Ape killed T'Chaka and took the throne of Wakanda, he gave some to Klaw for his sonic weapon and later opened the borders to HYDRA to sell vibranium for profit.
T'Challa, T'Chaka's son and current Black Panther, sought the help of the Avengers who stopped Man-Ape and the supply of vibranium. He joined the Avengers and used a variety of Vibranium-based weapons.
