Vibranium is an indestructible metal. It is used by the Chitauri for use in their ships. One crashed on Earth in the African nation of Wakanda long ago. The natives there managed to mine it into various purposes such as weapons. S.H.I.E.L.D. used the metal, along with adamantium to make a shield for Captain America. Bruce Banner discovered that the metal is vulnerable to gamma radiation, such as Hulk generates.
