Today is the thirty-seventh birthday of Donald Glover. The actor and singer rose to fame as a writer on 30 Rock and later a main cast member on Community. He began singing under the name Childish Gambino. When The Amazing Spider-Man live-action film was in production, a fan campaign pushed for Glover to play the role of Peter Parker. While that never came to be, it did lead to Brian Michael Bendis using Glover's likeness as the basis for Miles Morales. Eventually, Glover got to be the first to play Morales voicing him in his initial appearance on Ultimate Spider-Man. He would also get to play Morales's uncle Aaron Davis on the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Glover and his brother Stephen attempted to produce an animated series based on Deadpool, but the series was cancelled before it began.
