Today is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the premiere of Pulp Fiction. Inspired by various pulp magazines and hardboiled crime novels, the film follows various stories set in Los Angeles that are intertwined at various points.

The film was an enormous success with fans and critics. It became the first independent release to gross over one-hundred million dollars in its initial box office run. It was the tenth highest grossing film of the year despite playing on substantially fewer screens. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture. It has been considered director Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece. It provided a major boost to the careers of numerous actors and crew involved while also boosting the public perception of independent films. It has since been considered one of the greatest films ever made.

The film features the talents of Samuel L. Jackson as mob hitman Jules Winnfield, Phil LaMarr as drug dealer Marvin, and Kathy Griffin as a hit-and-run witness.
