Today is the twentieth anniversary of the premiere of Deep Blue Sea. The film follows a group of scientists in a remote underwater facility that are forced to escape when a group of genetically altered sharks start an attack.

The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a moderate success at the box office. It has since gained a cult following. It has been cited as one of the greatest shark movies outside the Jaws franchise.

The film features the talents of Samuel L. Jackson as corporate executive Russell Franklin as well as Frank Welker and Mary Kay Bergman as a parrot.
