Today is the one-hundred ninety-sixth anniversary of the publication of Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley. The iconic novel was the very first instance of science fiction. The novel follows the tragic adventures of Victor Frankenstein to create a man out of the dead in order to obtain immortality and the fallout of his misguided actions. While it has inspired many works, it also inspired a Marvel Comics character and anime featured The Monster of Frankenstein.
