Today is the tenth anniversary of the release of Inglourious Basterds. The film follows a series of interconnected stories set during World War II including a Jewish theater owner planning to assassinate Adolf Hitler, a group of Jewish-American soldiers going Nazi hunting, and an SS colonel hunting down Jewish people. The film is loosely connected to the 1978 Italian film The Inglorious Bastards, but shares few story elements.

The film was a smash hit with fans and critics. It had a massive run at the box office, was famed director Quentin Tarantino's highest grossing film at the time, and remains his second highest grossing film. It was nominated for numerous awards and winning many, including several Academy Awards.

The film features the talents of Samuel L. Jackson doing an uncredited job as narrator.
