Uatu is a Watcher that broke his vow to help Earth against Galactus.
Biography[]
When the Watcher learned that the Silver Surfer was bringing Galactus to Earth to devour the planet, he created an illusion of asteroids covering the Earth. This was to try and keep Silver Surfer from finding Earth. This caught the attention of the Fantastic Four. Watcher then explained to the Fantastic Four about the looming threat of Galactus. To save the Earth, Uatu sent the Human Torch to the home world of Galactus to retrieve the only weapon that could defeat him. When Human Torch returned with the weapon, Mister Fantastic threatened to use it against him unless he left Earth, which Galactus did. With Galactus gone, Uatu returned to the Blue Area of the Moon.
When the Fantastic Four were on the Blue Area of the Moon to fight Red Ghost they found Uatu's laboratory. A hologram recording of Uatu then appeared to the Fantastic Four and warned them not to touch anything in his laboratory because of how dangerous it could be. Uatu then wished the Fantastic Four good luck in their fight against Red Ghost.
