Tusk was a member of the mutant community of Skull Mesa. When the mutant Solarr and his allies took over the town, Cyclops inspired him to fight.

He then joined Magneto in his mission to overthrow humanity. However, Magneto relented following the sickness of his friend Charles Xavier.
