Jerry Carstairs, also known as Thunderer, is a superhero and part of the Six American Warriors.

During World War II, Jerry volunteered for a Super Soldier Program to recreate the formula that made Captain America. However, the recreated formula was imperfect. The five needed special rings for the formula to work. The five joined Captain America in the Six American Warriors.

The team went to stop Red Skull from using a doomsday device to take over the world. Captain America and Red Skull were trapped in a vortex and apparently lost. The remaining five disbanded, each protecting a key to the device.

Jerry decided to protect the doomsday site. He posed as a homeless man to not attract attention. After fifty years, Kingpin and the Insidious Six found the doomsday device and went to take it. The five came out of retirement to join Spider-Man and the released Captain America.

Red Skull, also freed, turned his son into Electro. The heroes were joined by S.H.I.E.L.D. and managed to stop Electro. However, Captain America and Red Skull were again trapped.

Thunderer was voiced by Hansford Rowe while Brett King voiced the younger version in the flashbacks.

Currently the only version of the character outside the comics.

In the Comics

Changed his name to Black Avenger.

His powers are due to a microphone in his costume.
