Roberto Da Costa, also known by Bobby and the codename Sunspot, is a mutant and member of the New Mutants, a subgroup of the X-Men.
Biography[]
Roberto, like Magma, came from Brazil to the Xavier Mansion to be part of the New Mutants, a younger generation of mutants who would help and possibly replace the X-Men.
Powers and Abilities[]
Sunspot has the ability to channel solar energy to give him enhanced speed and strength.
Personality[]
Roberto is interested in his schoolwork more than the other New Mutants, though he still likes to play around. Rahne also stated on their field trip that she was "smelling overachiever issues", pointing out that Roberto is just that.
Relationships[]
Beast[]
Roberto respects Hank, seen when he helps the X-Man when he was trapped under water and in a cage.
Shadowcat[]
Roberto seems to respect Kitty as an older member of the team, as he did listen to her when Hank was missing.
Wolfsbane[]
Rahne playfully teased Roberto when he had overdone covering the chopper. They continued flirting throughout the episode, even looking at each other near the lake. This shows that they might have started a relationship, though it may have ended when her parents took her back home. She was however seen at the end of the series and in a future scenario, so they may have picked up afterwards.
