Biography[]
Genju wanted Sunfire to bring Firestar to him. Genju told Sunfire that by combining their powers he and Firestar could power his fusion reactor which would benefit all mankind. However, unknown to Sunfire the fusion reactor was really a machine that could create a Fire Monster. Genju needed both Sunfire and Firestar to give his creature life.

Shiro later met Angelica Jones at a demonstration of his uncle's samurai robots. Shiro and Angelica went on a date. However, Shiro was unaware that Angelica was really Firestar. Together, Sunfire and Firestar used their powers to rescue people. Sunfire then told Firestar about his Uncle Genju's fusion reactor and how they had to combine their powers to activate it. Firestar agreed to help Sunfire. Sunfire and Firestar went to Ichi-Ban Electronics and used their power on the reactor. However, this drained Sunfire and Firestar of all their power and it freed the Fire Monster. However, Spider-Man was able to use the energy from the reactor to restore Sunfire and Firestar's powers. Genju controlled the Fire Monster to attack New York City but the Spider-Friends and Sunfire worked together and defeated it. Sunfire then took Genju back to Japan where he was checked into a psychiatric hospital where he received medical attention.

This is the first version of the character outside the comics.
During "Sunfire", Iceman states that he has fought Sunfire before. Sunfire was first introduced in the comics as an enemy of the X-Men which Iceman is a member of.
