The Statue of Liberty is an iconic landmark in New York Harbor overlooking New York City. It is a symbol of freedom and one of the most famous features of the United States of America, as much as the Eiffel Tower is for France and Big Ben is for the United Kingdom.

The Skrulls included an image of the statue in a video game they left for the Fantastic Four.
Rogue flew to the statue and stopped on it when she was plagued by visions of Ms. Marvel. Storm went to comfort her but another vision drew Rogue away.
Spot teleported Spider-Man to the statue during their fight.

In reality, the statue is a gift from the French to the United States. This was never elaborated on in any series.
