The song was composed by Paul Francis Webster and Bob Harris. The original song was recorded at RCA Studios in Toronto featuring 12 CBC vocalists (members of the Billy Van Singers, and Laurie Bower Singers groups).
It is rumored that John Semper, Jr. wanted to use this song as the theme for Spider-Man but was unable to get the rights.
Both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 featured characters as street performers performing the song.
