Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is the sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and the second sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It is being produced back-to-back with Across the Spider-Verse.
Production[]
The two films were announced on December 5th, 2021. However, they were initially announced as Across the Spider-Verse, Part One and Across the Spider-Verse, Part Two.[1]
On April 21st, 2022, Deadline revealed that both the Across the Spider-Verse films would be delayed. This film was given a release date of March 29th, 2024.[2]
On April 25th, 2022 at CinemaCon, Sony announced that the title was changed to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse with the first one losing the Part One.[3]
Following the 2023 Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strike the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was pushed back with no announced release date.[4]
On March 31, 2025, at CinemaCon, Phil Lord announced that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse would now release in June 2027.[5]
