Biography[]

Spider-Man's Secret Identity[]

After escaping prison Sandman went to a beach and hid there by morphing into a sandcastle. After rescuing Flash Thompson from a shark attack Spider-Man went behind the sand castle unaware that it was really Sandman and changed into his civilian clothes. Sandman then learned Spider-Man's true identity.

Later the Spider-Friends came across Sandman robbing an armored truck. As they fought Sandman revealed to the Spider-Friends that he knew that Spider-Man was Peter Parker. Sandman was able to subdue the Spider-Friends and then escaped. Sandman eventually found Peter walking along the beach and told him to not stop his crimes or else he would harm Aunt May. Iceman and Firestar attempted to stop Sandman, but were unable to do it without Spider-Man's help.

The Spider-Friends learned that a wealthy socialite named Nancy Stevens would be wearing her valuable sapphires at a costume party she was hosting. Knowing that Sandman would try to steal the sapphires Peter, Bobby and Angelica got an idea to dress someone else up as Spider-Man so that Sandman would see Spider-Man and Peter Parker together. Angelica asked Flash Thompson to be her date to the party and had him buy a Spider-Man costume.

At the party Sandman saw Flash dressed as Spider-Man and Peter Parker together. Sandman believed that he was wrong about Peter being Spider-Man. The Spider-Friends lured Sandman to a construction site where they were able to mix cement into his body and turn him into a stone statue. Sandman was sent back to prison and the cement wore off.

Mars Sand[]

Sandman stole a Mars soil sample from NASA. Spider-Man tried to stop him. However, Sandman ripped off Spider-Man's mask so Spider-Man had to flee so no one would learn his secret identity. Sandman then absorbed the Mars sand into his body which increased his powers by ten times. Sandman used his newly enhanced powers to commit robberies around New York City. However, Spider-Man tricked Sandman into going into a cement mixer and turned it on. Cement mixed into Sandman's body and turned him into a cement statue. Sandman was then taken to prison.

Death[]

Later, Doctor Octopus formed the Sinister Six. Around this time Spider-Man had gone missing and Deadpool had joined the Spider-Friends. When the Sinister Six robbed the Federal Reserve the Spider-Friends went to stop them. Deadpool told Iceman and Firestar that the Sinister Six had killed Spider-Man. In their blind rage Iceman and Firestar began to kill the members of the Sinister Six. Firestar used her heat power to fuse Sandman's molecules together which turned him to glass. Deadpool then shot Sandman with a bazooka and Sandman's glass body shattered and killed him. However, after all the Sinister Six were dead it was revealed that Spider-Man was still alive and Deadpool had lied to Iceman and Firestar.[1]
