A plasma jump is a tunnel connecting two vastly different points in space, similar to a wormhole.

Silver Surfer had encountered a plasma jump once while working for Galactus.
The Watcher Beacons could open a plasma jump to the Universal Library. Nebula used a beacon to go there. Silver Surfer reopened the jump in order to follow. It nearly destroyed him by ripping him apart through the Power Cosmic.
