Paul Robert Soles (born August 11, 1930; died May 26, 2021) was an actor who played Bruce Banner, Hawkeye, Happy Hogan, Rick Jones and Attuma on The Marvel Super Heroes; Spider-Man, Reptilla, Curt Conner, Tom, Bob, Dean Wilkins, Mr. Thompson, Fredrick Foswell, Vulture, Fantastic Fakir, and additional voices on Spider-Man; and Spider-Man on Spider-Woman.
Soles is the first of three actors to portray the character of Spider-Man across different series including Christopher Daniel Barnes and Drake Bell.
Biography[]
As a tribute to his role as Bruce Banner, he portrayed Bruce's former pizza parlor boss and friend Stanley in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film The Incredible Hulk.
Other notable works include Hermey on Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, King Kong, The Smokey Bear Show, Noah's Animals, Ticket to Heaven, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Rin Tin Tin: K-9 Cop, L. A. Law, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, F/X: The Series, and Terminal City.
Soles passed away on May 26th, 2021 in Toronto. No cause of death was given. He was survived by his wife Jean; son Jonathan; daughter-in-law Jarah; baby sister Ruth-Ellen; nieces Liane, Alison, Heather, and Sandra; and nephews Richard, Allan, and Brian.[1][2]
