- Nine Worlds of Asgard is from the Christopher Yost Animated Universe.
The Nine Worlds of Asgard are the nine realms which comprise Yggdrasill, which happens to be an enormous tree connecting the realms together.
Realms
- Alfheim: Home to the Light Elves.
- Asgard: Home to the Asgardians ruled by Odin.
- Hel: A realm ruled by Hela where the dead go when they are neither honored nor dishonored.
- Jotunheim: A frozen realm home to the Frost Giants. Located near Svartalfheim.
- Midgard: Also known as Earth. Home to Humans and Mutants.
- Muspelheim: Home to Surtur.
- Nidavellir: Home to Dwarfs.
- Svartalfheim: Formerly home to the Dark Elves. Located near Jotunheim. Made uninhabitable by the Frost Giants.
- Vanaheim
Midgard appears to be the only one not physically connected to Yggdrasill and exists in a seemingly separate universe, connected only by the Rainbow Bridge.
Other Regions
- Kona Lifandi: Home base for the Valkyries. Located on a mushroom on Yggdrasill.
- Niffleheim: Where the dishonored dead go.
- Valhalla: Where the honored dead go.
History
The Frost Giants of Jotunheim were in a war with the dark elves of Svartalfheim. The elves tried to have the fire demon Surtur defeat the giants for them, but Odin stopped him. The giants used glaciers to destroy Svartalfheim killing all the elves except for Algrim and Malekith.
At one point, Loki of Asgard spread the Avengers and Masters of Evil, heroes and villains from Midgard, across the Nine Worlds while he took over Asgard. The Avengers reformed and defeated Loki.
