Biography[]

While Spider-Man was chasing some criminals he was knocked out and lied unconscious in the middle of the street. As the police arrived they had to hold back a group of people that wanted to remove his mask. Captain Ned Stacy then arrived and had Spider-Man taken to the infirmary at a prison for medical attention. Stacy also went to the prison. However, there was a riot at the prison and Captain Stacy was taken hostage by the prisoners. When Spider-Man awoke he pretended to be a criminal to get close to the other convicts. Spider-Man was able to to take out the convicts one by one until Stacy was safe.

Kingpin once tried to brainwash Captain Stacy and other city officials so he could take control of New York City. However, Stacy was rescued by Spider-Man.

When the Radiation Specialist brainwashed everyone in New York City into serving him, Captain Stacy was not affected. When Spider-Man was captured by those under Radiation Specialist's control, Stacy kept the mob from killing him, instead suggesting that Spider-Man be locked in prison. However, there was a riot at the prison and Stacy was taken hostage. However, Spider-Man was able to rescue Stacy and stop the Radiation Specialist.

Background[]

Ned was voiced by Len Carlson.

This is the first version of the character outside the comics.

For reasons unknown, his name was changed from George Stacy.

Ned Stacy (Young) (Spider-Man (1967))

Ned Stacy looked much younger in "The Big Brainwasher" than he did in "To Cage a Spider". This was either a mistake by the animators or the two are related.

In the Comics[]

His name is George Stacy.

He is not related to Mary Jane. Instead his daughter, Gwen Stacy, dates Peter Parker.

While Spider-Man was fighting Doctor Octopus a chunk of concrete fell off a building and was about to hit a child. Stacy pushed the child out of the way and was hit himself. Before dying Stacy revealed to Spider-Man that he always knew he was Peter Parker. Interestingly, George died the same month the series ended.
