Mystique is a member of the Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists that has the power to shapeshift.
Biography[]
When Professor X and Kitty Pryde were kidnapped by the Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists they were taken to Magneto's base on Island M. Professor X telepathically contacted the X-Men and told them their location, and they went to the island to rescue them.
After defeating the Juggernaut the X-Men found Professor X. However, this turned out to be Mystique in disguise and she had lured them into a trap. Mystique caused the ground below the X-Men to cave-in and they fell into a cavern below Island M where they encountered Sentinels and Hellfire Knights.
Later, the X-Men went to Asteroid M to stop Magneto. The X-Men fought Magneto and defeated him. However, this turned out to be Mystique in disguise. The X-Men then defeated the real Magneto and destroyed Asteroid M.
When the Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists kidnapped Professor X they brought him to Murderworld to lure the X-Men into a trap. As the X-Men made their way through Murderworld they had to avoid various traps and fight the Brotherhood. Mystique fought the X-Men, but she was defeated.

Mystique is Nightcrawler's mother. However, this is not stated in the game.
