Maverick is a mutant who was on Team X with connections to the Weapon X program.

Little is known about Maverick.

He was on Team X with Wolverine, Sabretooth, and Silver Fox. Together they fought and defeated the Russian supersoldier Omega Red.

Charles Xavier saw a vision of Maverick when he entered Sabretooth's mind.

Somehow, Morph knew of Maverick and his connections to Wolverine. When he was brainwashed by Mister Sinister, Morph transformed into Maverick to taunt Wolverine.

Eventually Wolverine, Sabretooth, and Beast found the Weapon X Facility. Maverick and Silver Fox found their own way there and met them. They learned that many of their memories were manufactured by Weapon X. They all went their separate ways not wanting to trust anything they remember.
