After finding out that his enemy Captain America had returned, Baron Zemo contacted the enemies of Cap's new teammates, the Avengers: Giant Man and Wasp's enemy Black Knight, Iron Man's enemy Melter, and Thor's enemy Radioactive Man. They became the Masters of Evil to defeat the Avengers. Zemo had his Masters of Evil cover New York City in Adhesive X to draw the the Avengers into the open. Captain America was secretly able to switch Zemo's canisters of Adhesive X with a dissolving agent and the Masters of Evil sprayed it all over the city which freed that were already stuck by Adhesive X. The Avengers then defeated Zemo and his Masters of Evil.
