The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a cross-media universe comprised of numerous films and series from Marvel Studios. While it is mostly live-action What If...? and I Am Groot are currently the only animated entries, though there are plans for further animated projects. In November 2021 Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Marvel Zombies were announced. Also, in 2021 a series of animated shorts called The Untold Tales of the Eternals were made to tie-in with the Eternals film. In 2022 an animated segment called How Yondu Ruined Christmas was featured in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. In 2023 an animated series called Eyes of Wakanda was announced to be in development and an animated segment called Kamala Kahn + Carol Danvers Save the World as the Dream Team was included in the film The Marvels.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was originally intended to open with an animated sequence featuring T'Challa. However, the animated sequence was cut from the script following the death of Chadwick Boseman.
In 2025 Marvel Entertainment started producing animated shorts called Today in Marvel History. In these shorts Miss Minutes of the Time Variance Authority recounts key events that occurred in the main universe of Marvel Comics. Though not MCU proper these shorts could be seen as MCU adjacent since they feature Miss Minutes and the TVA from the MCU series Loki.
