Tony Stark decides to retire as Iron Man and travels to Japan to train a group of pilots to try out the Iron Man Dio Armor, as well as supervising the new Arc Reactor that would give Japan free energy. Things begin to fall apart when the Dio Armor is stolen by the organization known as Zodiac. Tony is forced out of retirement to once again wear the Iron Man Armor to defend Japan from Zodiac. To make matters worse Scorpio arrives to confront Iron Man.

Characters

  • Tony Stark/Iron Man - After spending a unspecified amount of time as Iron Man, Tony announced his retirement while visiting Japan to supervise the new Arc Reactor station, as well as to test out his latest creation - the mass-produced Iron Man Dio, meant to be his replacement. After the Dio is stolen by the organization known as Zodiac, Tony dons his Iron Man armor once again.
  • Dr. Chika Tanaka - Prior to Tony's arrival, Dr. Tanaka oversees the operations of the Arc Reactor station in Japan. Tanaka provides vital information and support for Tony in his fight against the Zodiac.
  • Nanami Ohta - Reporter for the Tokyo Journal, a low-level news magazine. She is the second person, other than Tanaka, to be flirted by Tony, to which she replies in a hostile manner. Despite their first meeting, she is determined to arrange an exclusive interivew with Tony by almost any means neccessary.
  • Nagato Sakurai - Captain of the JSDF (Japanese Self-Defense Force). He first observes Tony's actions in Japan to decide whether or not his intentions are beneficial for the country. He later becomes Tony's ally against the Zodiac and pilots the Ramon-Zero, a Samurai-designed Armored Suit built solely by the JSDF as a rival to the Iron Man armor.
  • Kuroda- Japan's Minister of Defense. He first meets Tony upon his arrival in Japan and oversees the testing of the Iron Man Dio. While he welcomes Tony's arrival in Japan, he secretly orders Sakurai to observe Tony's actions.
  • Pepper Potts - Formerly Tony's secretary, she is the CEO of Stark Industries and oversees the company in the U.S. while Stark is in Japan.
  • Ichiro Masuda - Cameraman for the Tokyo Journal and Nanami's partner.
  • Nomura - Editor-in-Chief of the Tokyo Journal. He continues to berate Nanami to provide exclusive news report and interviews regarding Tony Stark to increase his news magazine's sales.
  • Ho Yinsen - A friend of Tony Stark. During their capture in the Middle East, Yinsen helped Tony design the Iron Man Mark I armor in an attempt to escape, but dies in the process. He is revealed to be alive and is a member of Zodiac, as well piloting the Iron Man Dio armor.
  • Logan/Wolverine - Logan appears as a guest character, aiding Iron Man in his fight against the Zodiac Taurus. He arrives in Japan to investigate the actions of A.I.M. as well as providing Tony vital information regarding the Zodiac.
