Christopher Daniel Barnes is an actor who played the titular character on Spider-Man. While on the series he also voiced a young Ben Parker in the episode "Secrets of the Six", Spider-Carnage, and each of the Spider-Men. He is the longest running actor to portray the famous webslinger having played him for five seasons over the course of sixty-five episodes. As a tribute to that series, Barnes is currently the voice of Electro on Ultimate Spider-Man. Barnes was born on November 7, 1972 in Portland, Maine. At the age of eight he began acting and moved to Los Angeles at thirteen becoming the teenage spokesman for Greenpeace. One of his first big acting roles was in the television series Starman, where he played the son of Iron Man actor Robert Hays. To film fans, Barnes is known for his portrayal of Prince Eric in Walt Disney's 1989 film The Little Mermaid. While he did not reprise the role for the following series or direct-to-video sequel, he played Eric again for the Kingdom Hearts series. Having grown up loving Spider-Man, Barnes was incredibly excited at the idea of playing him. He went into the audition quite sure of himself and told Sara Ballantine, before he officially got the part, that he would see her when the series started. He enjoyed that the series was more series than Spider-Man and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. He became the voice of Spider-Man at the time playing the character in electronic versions of classic comics. He enjoyed working with Hank Azaria (Eddie Brock/Venom) and Edward Asner (J. Jonah Jameson) while he felt Mark Hamill's Hobgoblin pushed his own acting to be better. While he never managed the same success again, Barnes has continued acting. He played Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel. He has made small appearances on several series including The Golden Girls, Blossom, Wings, Clueless, and Beverly Hills, 90210. He returned to Disney by voicing Prince Charming in the two Cinderella sequels. In 2010, Barnes returned to Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions as Spider-Man Noir. He joined Dan Gilvezan of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (who played Spider-Man 2099), Neil Patrick Harris of Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (as Amazing Spider-Man), and Josh Keaton of The Spectacular Spider-Man (as Ultimate Spider-Man) along with his Spider-Man co-stars Jim Cummings, Jennifer Hale, and Stan Lee. The following year he played Spider-Man 2099 in the semi-sequel Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Most recently he played Spider-Man on Marvel Heroes.
