Semper studied Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard earning a Bachelor's Degree in 1975. One summer he worked on the documentary Gimme Shelter alongside future Star Wars creator George Lucas. He then taught filmmaking and film history at the New England School of Art and Design before moving to Los Angeles. He directed a short film that combined live-action and animation that played as part of the Universal Studios Studio Tour and was donated to the Smithsonian Institute. He then went to work at Hanna-Barbera Productions where he worked on The Smurfs, Snorks, and various Scooby-Doo series.

In 1994, Marvel hired Semper to be the story editor of Spider-Man, essentially running the series. He replaced another story editor, who was not working out, and had worked with Stan Lee before. Semper stated that it was an enormous deal as Marvel Comics was facing severe financial difficulties at the time and Avi Arad needed the series to succeed to help his newly created company Toy Biz. Semper fought with Arad throughout the course of the series as he wanted a quality series but Arad wanted a toy commercial. Semper would usually win by arguing that a quality series would sell toys anyways.

Due to backlash from Power Rangers and Batman: The Animated Series, Semper had to deal with some extreme censorship. He was still allowed to use characters such as Carnage, Punisher, and Blade but had to tone down their actions. He was also not allowed to use Sandman or Electro due to a film being made by James Cameron, but when the film fell through he used Electro. Semper was told not to use season-long story arcs, but did them anyways starting with Neogenic Nightmare. He wanted to emulate the long-form stories from the comics and accomplished it before anyone knew what he was doing. Despite writing some stories for a sixth season, the series ended after the fifth season.

They destroyed the command ship while Black Panther and Captain America trapped Kleiser in vibranium. The Avengers returned to New York while T'Challa's powers were restored.
Following his work at Marvel, Semper went to work on the shows Extreme Ghostbusters and Rescue Heroes. He worked with Stan Lee Media, Disney Interactive Studios, and translating Hayao Miyazaki films into English. He wrote for DC Comics series Static Shock, but was not allowed to do similar multi-episode stories. He recently worked on an online series named Creeporia combining live-action and animation. He most recently wrote for the Cyborg series for DC Comics. He also scans and uploads storyboards of Spider-Man on Facebook and argues for the entire series to be released uncut on DVD.

MODOK First Look 02

M.O.D.O.K.

M.O.D.O.K. is an upcoming series from Marvel Animation set to premiere in early 2021. It stars Patton Oswalt as the voice of the titular character.

MODOK has run A.I.M. into the ground as leader. He sells the organization to a Silicon Valley tech giant where he must balance his new work environment along with his crumbling family life.

It will take place in a shared universe with the upcoming series Hit Monkey, leading up to the crossover series The Offenders (named in parody of Marvel Studios's live-action crossover series The Defenders).

T'Challa Returns UA2

Africa is a continent on the planet Earth as seen in Ultimate Avengers II. The film only shows the two nations Wakanda and Egypt. The film was released before the introduction of Black Panther and Wakanda in the Ultimate Marvel Comics line, so is based on the original Earth-616 continuity.

Long ago, an enormous mountain-sized meteorite of pure vibranium crashed into Africa. Humans settled on top of the meteorite calling the land Wakanda, discovered the vibranium, and began mining and refining it. They became very powerful and were never invaded. At the same time, humans settled in a desert region called Egypt and built the Pyramids of Giza. An alien race known as the Chitauri tracked the meteorite to Earth.

The Chitauri came to Earth and infiltrated Germany. During World War II, the Chituari leader known as Herr Kleiser led a group of Chitauri into Wakanda. He spoke to King Azzari the Wise speaking of peace. However, he attacked the nation to steal the meteorite. The Wakandans shot down the Chitauri ship and drove the aliens out. They then used the ship as a power source. The incident made the nation extremely xenophobic, becoming distrustful of any outside person and even Wakandans who left the country.

When Azzari's son T'Chaka took over as king, he began preparations for another invasion by the Chitauri. He sent his son T'Challa away to learn the ways of the outside world. T'Chaka also built high-tech weapons and defenses while even having the occasional contact with Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. in New York City. He kept an eye on the events in the United States after hearing that the Chitauri had returned but were defeated by the Avengers led by WWII hero Captain America. When T'Challa returned, so did the Chitauri. T'Chaka became Black Panther and fought Kleiser but was killed.

T'Challa took the throne and mantle of Black Panther. He contacted Captain America and Nick Fury, but got no information on how to destroy Kleiser. The Avengers infiltrated Wakanda to find the Chitauri and were found by Black Panther. He took Captain America into the city and explained their history with the aliens. The other Avengers were discovered and though Black Panther ordered them gone the tribal elders stripped T'Challa of his royal powers. After being tricked by Kleiser, the Avenger's were nearly killed by the Chitauri Command Ship, which then settled over Wakanda and began a siege of the planet focusing on Wakanda. While his people fought the aliens, T'Challa contacted Fury explaining why the aliens were on Earth. The Avengers appeared and helped fend off the Chitauri. They destroyed the command ship while Black Panther and Captain America trapped Kleiser in vibranium. The Avengers returned to New York while T'Challa's powers were restored.
