Xavier stops the training and warns that she will need to overcome this problem if she needs to lead. Afterwards, Jean Grey (Catherine Disher) visits Logan (Cathal J. Dodd), who is still recovering from his battle with Sabretooth, before her date with Scott (Norm Spencer). Logan then tells Jean he loves her causing her to flee. |

Scott and Jean follow to stop the angry mob that chases him. They follow into a subway station to find a group of mutants attacking the mob. They fight to protect the angry humans. However, they are knocked out by Annalee (Kay Tremblay) and kidnapped by Sunder (Dan Hennessey). Meanwhile, Wolverine becomes angry at the thought of the lovebirds spending so much time together. |

Wolverine frees the family while confronting Moss. Beast frees the other mutants. With the help of Pyro (North), Boom Boom (Crystal Scales), and Dust (Tara Strong) the mutants flee the facility. Logan takes the family to a secret location to hide until the MRD loses interest in them. He returns to the mansion informing Beast that he realizes the world still needs the X-Men. |

− | Scott wakes up in an underground bunker with Leech having taken his powers. Sunder takes them to their leader, Callisto (Susan Roman), who explains that they are Morlocks, mutants too deformed to live among humans. She admits to following Scott and explains she had Leech lure Scott and Jean into their tunnels. She tells him that she wants him as her mate. Scott demands to see Jean, who gets out of her bonds and attacks the Morlocks. She gets a brief message to Xavier before being knocked out. |

− | Xavier finds the general location of Scott and Jean and sends the X-Men under Storm's command. Gambit (Chris Potter) worries about Storm's claustrophobia but Storm pushes through it. They are eventually attacked by the Morlocks and fend them off. They chase the Morlocks deeper into the tunnels and find that Annalee has hypnotized Jean. Wolverine attacks Annalee and frees Jean. Callisto confronts them and shows the dead body of Scott. Wolverine attacks the corpse revealing him to be Ape (Ross Petty) in disguise. The X-Men and Morlocks start fighting, Wolverine chases Callisto through the tunnels, Rogue (Lenore Zann) and Sunder start a rivalry, and Plague (Judy Marshak) infects Gambit. |

− | Wolverine eventually finds the real Scott and, after a brief moment to consider ending their rivalry, takes him to back to the others. Callisto realizes that Wolverine loves Jean as well and has Annalee force the X-Man into attacking the others. After Jean is forced to knock Wolverine out, all seems lost until Storm challenges Callisto for leadership of the Morlocks. The two engage in hand-to-hand combat and eventually Storm wins. She offers to let the Morlocks return to the surface but they prefer to stay underground. She gives temporary leadership back to Callisto and the X-Men leave. Back at the mansion, they check on Gambit to find he will make a recovery. Scott and Jean head to Logan's room to thank him but find him gone with a picture of them tore up. |

"Hindsight, Part One" is the first of the three-part series premiere of Wolverine and the X-Men written by Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle while directed by Boyd Kirkland. It originally aired on September 13, 2008 in Canada and January 23, 2009 in the United States.
