"Michael Korvac" is the thirty-second episode of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the six episode of the second season. It originally aired on May 6th, 2012 and was the episode was the first episode to air following the death of director Boyd Kirkland, the first to be dedicated to his memory. It is the only appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy on the series and the only fictional non-video game work for actor Steve Downes. It's a peaceful night in New York City when a ball of energy appears in Central Park. It leaves behind a man covered in strange scars who claims he is being chased by aliens and calls himself Michael Korvac (Troy Baker). Meanwhile at the Avengers Mansion, Wasp (Colleen O'Shaughnessey) talks with Ms. Marvel (Jennifer Hale) about breaking up with Hank (Wally Wingert) when the police arrive with Michael. He suffers from strange flashbacks, at first thinking Wasp is someone named Corrina (Hale), and the Avenger is forced to knock him out. Jane Foster (Kari Wahlgren) checks him out while the other Avengers arrive, suspicious of the man. Black Panther (James C. Mathis III) and Hawkeye (Chris Cox) check out Central Park while Wasp finds Corrina. Iron Man (Eric Loomis) struggles to understand the scans of Michael when Hulk (Fred Tatasciore) explains he is infected with cosmic radiation. Wasp returns with Corrina, who is reunited with Michael. The couple's reunion is short-lived when the Guardians of the Galaxy appear in the mansion. Due to the language barrier, Wasp thinks Star-Lord (Downes) is attacking and strikes first. Black Panther fights Adam Warlock (Kirk Thorton), Iron Man takes on Quasar (Moira Quirk), Hulk battles Groot (Baker) and Rocket Raccoon (Greg Ellis), Hawkeye engages Star-Lord, and Wasp leads Michael and Corrina away. The Guardians prove to be tough adversaries until the Avengers overcome them. Eventually Star-Lord convinces Hawkeye to help them. Hawkeye gets the Avengers to stand down long enough to listen to the Guardians. However, Michael suddenly powers up and knocks out both teams. Ms. Marvel arrives from S.W.O.R.D. but Michael senses the Kree technology that gave her powers and takes her hostage. Inside Adam's Soul Gem embedded in his head, the two teams meet and formally introduce each other. Star-Lord explains that Michael was abducted by the Kree and experimented on, which unlocked something in him that gave him incredible powers. Michael destroyed the Kree ship then later destroyed an innocent space station and most of the nearby planet. The Guardians realized that Michael was too powerful to defeat physically, and their only hope is to trap him in the Soul Gem. Michael returns to Central Park with Corrina and Ms. Marvel. When he's about to kill the Kree-powered heroine, the Guardians and Avengers appear. Even their combined might is not enough to combat Michael, and the plan to trap him fails. When both teams are once again knocked out, Corrina explains that she is afraid of Michael. Realizing that he pushed away the one thing he wanted in all the universe, Michael disappears in the flash of light to somewhere even Adam cannot sense. Iron Man asks Star-Lord to compare notes, but the Guardian warns about dangers in the universe the Avengers are better off not knowing about. Out in space, Michael is alone among the cosmos.
