− | A soldier training to be part of the Hulkbusters destroys two robotic replicas of Hulk but is defeated by a third. General Thaddeus Ross tells him the real Hulk won't be as forgiving. A S.H.I.E.L.D. plane lands dropping off Agent Gabriel Jones, who is to be the liaison to the Hulkbusters in exchange for S.H.I.E.L.D. help. Brimming with overconfidence, Jones sends a group of robots to search for and destroy Hulk in the deserts of Nevada. Sawyer tells Logan that Monsieur Cocteau is a valuable scientist to the Allied war effort and is being held by the enemy in a fortified chateau. He is to help Betty develop a cure for Bruce Banner while General Ross only sees him as someone who can fight "toe-to-toe" with Hulk. Alone at work, Mitch sees something near the facility and investigates to find Hulk. Hulk reverts back to Bruce who explains he is looking for a nuclear research facility that he designed. Mitch is in awe of meeting his idol and offers to help. |

However, they soon become trapped by the enemy and captured. Red Skull appears and thanks Andre for sounding the alarm, revealing that the scientist is working for the Axis powers. |
− | Back at base, Ross welcomes his newly formed Hulkbusters and introduces them to field commander Major Glenn Talbot, pilot Samuel LaRoquette, and advisor Gabriel Jones. They head out to follow the trail of the destroyed robots while Betty and Samson finish a cage for Hulk. Mitch sneaks Bruce past security and they begin to work on a cure themselves. After Mitch uses his operations knowledge to help Bruce, they finish the device and begin. However, the boss comes in and decides to stop the experiment. A fight ensues and Mitch saves Bruce but is hit with a massive blast of electricity. Finding that he is now a being of pure electricity, Mitch calls himself Zzzax claims no one will ever step on him again. |
+ | Logan and Captain America are taken to a torture chamber where Red Skull taunts them. He leaves them alone and Logan uses Captain America's shield to free them. Captain America destroys the Sleeper and goes after his rival. The Howling Commandos detonate an explosive that engulfs the chateau in flames. During the chaos, Logan and Captain America chase Red Skull and Andre to a plane where the Nazis escape. The two heroes meet Sergeant Fury and his Commandos where Logan becomes upset at losing their target. Captain America is just glad to have destroyed a Nazi operation. |
− | Zzzax almost kills his boss and buries Bruce under a pile of rubble. He finds himself drained and goes to suck more energy from the facility. However, the drain threatens to cause a nuclear meltdown. Bruce transforms and attacks Zzzax. Initially overpowered, Hulk manages to use Zzzax to repower the facility averting a meltdown. Zzzax heads off to the nearby Hoover Dam to drain it, threatening innocent people in a subsequent flood. The Hulkbusters attack but Hulk easily destroys the cage. He attacks the helicopters but saves it when he sees Betty inside. She tells him to stop Zzzax before people get hurt and he heads off. Once again, Zzzax overpowers and nearly defeats Hulk. Thinking of Betty, Hulk grabs Zzzax and drops into the Colorado River where Zzzax returns to being Mitch. General Ross teases Jones on his previously cocky attitude towards Hulk. Before Hulk leaves, he and Mitch call each other friends once again. |
