+ | In a cemetery near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, three American soldiers visit the grave of a comrade who died fifty years before. They stumble across a man visiting there who looks exactly like another soldier they knew named Logan. They leave passing him off as merely Logan's son. The X-Man remembers them but lets them go. He finds the grave of Andre Cocteau and curses him for dying before he could do it. |
− | Iron Man (Matthew Mercer) and War Machine (James C. Mathis III) are in Utah to oversee the launch of HOWARD, a satellite that will help S.H.I.E.L.D. investigate any crime on Earth. The two armored heroes have a friendly race beforehand with each using their experiences to get the upper hand. However, they are interrupted by the Raiders trying to destroy the satellite. The two are joined by S.H.I.E.L.D. in defending the launch, until the Raiders' boss comes, Ezekiel Stane (Eric Bauza). The son of Obadiah developed Technovore, a techno-organic virus that he can control with his mind. "Zeke" kills the people at the launch site and easily overpowers Iron Man. He uses Technovores to infect the building blowing it up, apparently killing War Machine in the process. |
+ | During World War II, Logan was working for the Office of Strategic Services doing "black bag" work. In 1944, Logan infiltrated the Nazi-held capitol of France to find a resistance hideout. There, he meets Justine Cocteau and Happy Sawyer. Sawyer tells Logan that Monsieur Cocteau is a valuable scientist to the Allied war effort and is being held by the enemy in a fortified chateau. Logan's orders are to either rescue Cocteau or silence him. On his way there, Logan finds two German soldiers chasing a boy who is out past curfew. Logan attacks but is saved by Captain America, who is ordered to join him on the mission. |

− | Tony is devastated by the loss but S.H.I.E.L.D. wants to keep him aboard the Helicarrier. Tony leaves to investigate his new foe forcing Nick Fury (John Eric Bentley), Black Widow (Clare Grant), and Hawkeye (Troy Baker) to try to capture him. Tony returns home and has Pepper Potts (Kate Higgins) help him investigate, interrupting her vacation. S.H.I.E.L.D. Mandroids appear and Tony must fight his way out. Iron Man goes to Pakistan to find an Advanced Idea Mechanics agent, and comes across Punisher (Norman Reedus). Punisher reluctantly agrees to help since he has a file on Zeke. They find Zeke's location but are tracked by Hawkeye and Black Widow. Punisher helps the armored hero escape to Shanghai, vowing never to help Tony again. |
+ | The two scale a cliff to sneak into the Chateau, using long metal climbing claws. Once at the top Logan finds the claws useful for fighting the enemy keeping them on. They sneak into the stronghold silently taking down enemies as they go. The two find Andre, who for some reason refuses to leave. Logan knocks him out and drags him away. However, they soon become trapped by the enemy and captured. Red Skull appears and thanks Andre for sounding the alarm, revealing that the scientist is working for the Axis powers. |
− | Iron Man finds Zeke, along with Sasha Hammer (Tara Platt), but becomes immobilized by Technovores. Zeke tells him how he intends to take down "Fascist" corporate owners and build a new world order. Eventually, Iron Man diverts power to his arc reactor to neutralize the Technovores. They are then taken in by S.H.I.E.L.D. Aboard the Helicarrier, Tony finds that Rhodey is alive but badly injured. Zeke manages to escape and takes over the Helicarrier, trying to take over HOWARD so he could destroy the world. |
+ | Logan and Captain America are taken to a torture chamber where Red Skull taunts them. He leaves them alone and Logan uses Captain America's shield to free them. They find Andre and engage the enemy forces. When his forces fall, Red Skull activates Andre's work: an enormous Sleeper robot with miniguns for arms. Captain America destroys the Sleeper and goes after his rival. The Howling Commandos detonate an explosive that engulfs the chateau in flames. During the chaos, Logan and Captain America chase Red Skull and Andre to a plane where the Nazis escape. The two heroes meet Sergeant Fury and his Commandos where Logan becomes upset at losing their target. Captain America is just glad to have destroyed a Nazi operation. |

− | Iron Man helps Maria Hill neutralize the Technovores but the Helicarrier crashes anyways. They try to stop Zeke but the Technovores take over his body. Iron Man fights the living virus but is overpowered until War Machine returns to help. Technovore "evolves" into a new form and stretches itself across the city before again taking the satellite. Iron Man uses a backdoor, Pepper saying she wants a vacation, to take control of the HOWARD. He gives control of a defense satellite to War Machine. Iron Man enters the Technovore mass and has Rhodey reluctantly shoot him. The resulting explosion reacts with his arc reactor destroying the Technovores. With the world saved, Tony promises to take Pepper on a romantic vacation. Later, they find a catatonic Zeke who only responds when Sasha reads him Nietzsche. |

Andre was a double agent who sabotaged the enemy plans for rockets and atomic bombs from within. The mission was meant to fail, to make his defection look real.
