Maria Taina Elizando is an original character who appeared in the Spider-Man episodes Make a Wish and Attack of the Octobot. Voiced by Stephanie Eustase, the character is a female readaption of Tim Hammond, an original character who was featured in the 1984 story The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man, although the terminally-ill Elizando was rewritten to have a slightly-greater role in both episodes when Spider-Man falls under the mind control of Doctor Octopus.
Elizando is depicted as residing at the fictional Wish Come True Foundation for Terminally Ill Children; both the name of the first episode and the name of the home for terminally ill children is in homage to the real-life Make-a-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that "grants wishes" to children (2.5 years to 18 years old) with life-threatening medical conditions.
In the second episode, she enlists the help of a nearby taxi driver named Mousie, who eventually enlists the help of her entire taxi squad and the NYPD to track down Doc Ock. [[Category:Children]]
