Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (born February 16, 1974), credited as Mahershala Ali, is an actor who plays Prowler/Aaron Davis on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as well as his alternate universe counterpart in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Biography[]
He played Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes on the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Luke Cage with Alfre Woodard playing his sister. He also plays Blade in Eternals and an upcoming film, taking over the role from Wesley Snipes who has offered his support.
Other notable works include Crossing Jordon, NYPD Blue, Threat Matrix, The 4400, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Crossing Over, Predators, Alcatraz, The Place Beyond the Pines with Bradley Cooper, Treme, Alphas, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2 with Jeffrey Wright, House of Cards, Free State of Jones, Hidden Figures, and Roxanne Roxanne.
He is the first Muslim actor to win an Academy Award, for his role in the Best Picture winner Moonlight.
