Biography[]
Magneto is an enemy of the X-Men. Magneto formed the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to combat his enemies and help him take over the world. The Brotherhood consisted of Blob, Toad and Mastermind. However, the Brotherhood was arrested and placed in prison.
When Magneto learned of the National Police Chief and Warden Convention which was being held at a prison he hatched a plan to break the Brotherhood out of prison. Posing as an escape artist called Proton, the Great, Magneto was was hired to perform at the convention and was able to get access to the prison. Magneto revealed himself to the police chiefs and wardens that were there and placed a magnetic forcefield over the prison so none of them could leave. Magneto told the wardens that four of them had each had one member of the Brotherhood in their prion and demanded their release. The Spider-Friends discovered that Magneto was using a generator at a power plant to increase his magnetic power. The Spider-Friends were able to lure Magneto to the power plant and used the generators to increase his power so much that Magneto could no longer control his power. Magneto's power had grown so much that he was no longer in control of his own power. The magnetic field around Magneto attracted several heavy pieces of metal and formed around his body trapping him.
Magneto later stole all communication satellites and caused a blackout in New York City. The next day Magneto, as a shadowy figure called Mr. M, gave a televised message saying that he wanted $100 million in gold in exchange for the return of all the world's communication satellites and power to the city. After doing some investigating Spider-Man learned that the mysterious Mr. M was really Magneto. Spider-Man stopped Magneto from stealing a rocket. However, as the rocket launched Magneto placed Spider-Man in a magnetic force field and set it on the rocket as it launched into space. However, Spider-Man was able to force the rocket back to Earth. Spider-Man tracked Magneto to Easter Island and found his underground lair. Spider-Man fought Magneto and used a device to trap Magneto in one of his own magnetic forcefields. Spider-Man was also able to return all stolen satellites to their proper orbit. However, Magneto got free from the force field and escaped.
