Kurt Marko is the father of Cain and step-father of Charles Xavier.
Biography[]
Little is known about Cain's father.
At some point he met and married Sharon Xavier. However his love wasn't genuine as he married her only because of her money. He was abusive towards Charles and his son Cain, who picked on his step-brother.

In the Comics[]
His first wife, and Cain's mother, was named Marjorie Marko. She died when Cain was three years old.
He was a nuclear scientist.
He worked with Mister Sinister, using the name Dr. Nathan Milbury, on a secret government project that studied mutant children.
Charles' father Dr. Brian Xavier was a colleague of Kurt. While visiting him in New Mexico, an explosion took Brian's life. Since he was also a widow he comforted Brian's wife eventually marrying her.
He became neglectful and abusive towards Sharon, driving her to alcoholism and her eventual death.
During an argument over money, Cain accused his father of causing Brian Xavier's death. Kurt became angry denying it. Charles was outside the door listening in. Cain became mad and threw chemicals around causing an explosion. Kurt was mortally wounded but saved Cain and Charles. With his dying breath, he begged Charles' forgiveness for not being able to save Brian and telling him to not let Cain know about his powers. However, Cain overheard and began their rivalry.
