Jim Janes (born July 17, 1947; died September 1, 2020) was a storyboard artist who worked on X-Men, Spider-Man, and The Incredible Hulk.
Biography[]
Details on his life are scarce. He was from Staten Island. He attended New York's High School of Art and Design as well as the city's School of Visual Arts.[1]
Other notable animated series he worked on include Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines, Spiral Zone, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Karate Kid, Batman: The Animated Series, G.I. Joe: Sgt. Savage and His Screaming Eagles: Old Soldiers Never Die, Exosquad, Biker Mice from Mars, Extreme Ghostbusters, RoboCop: Alpha Commando, and Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century.
As a comic book artist he worked on Legion of Super-Heroes, House of Mystery, and Superman Family for DC Comics and Marvel Comics Super Special and Marvel Team-Up for Marvel Comics.
On September 4th, 2020, his frequent collaborator Paul Kupperberg confirmed his Janes' death. He left behind his wife Rebecca.[2]
