Jeph Loeb (born January 29, 1958) is a writer and producer who served as the Executive Vice President, Head of Television of Marvel Entertainment. He was executive producer of Astonishing X-Men, Marvel Anime: Wolverine, Marvel Anime: Iron Man, Marvel Anime: Blade, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers, Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Mash-Up, Avengers Assemble, Wolverine: Origin, Inhumans, Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk, Wolverine Weapon X: Tomorrow Dies Today, Eternals, Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United, Iron Man & Captain America: Heroes United, Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight!, Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, M.O.D.O.K., and Hit Monkey. He was also a writer for Wolverine Versus Sabretooth and a writer and executive producer for Wolverine Versus Sabretooth: Reborn. He was given a special thanks in Big Hero 6.

Biography[]

Loeb has an extensive comic book writing career that includes Batman: The Long Halloween (which inspired the films Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Batman), Batman: Dark Victory, Batman: Hush, Superman/Batman, The Death of Captain America, The Ultimates 3, Ultimatum, Hulk: Grey, Daredevil: Yellow, and Spider-Man: Blue.

As a writer his credits include Teen Wolf, Commando, The Hitchiker, Teen Wolf Too, Seven Little Monsters, Smallville, Heroes, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Batman: The Long Halloween, and Batman: Hush.

As a producer his credits include Teen Wolf, Commando, Firestorm, Seven Little Monsters, Smallville, Lost, Heroes, Day One, The Gifted, and Legion. He worked on the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Marvel's Most Wanted, Inhumans, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher, Cloak & Dagger, Runaways, Helstrom, and New Warriors.

On Jun 17th, 2005, his son Sam died at the age of 17 after battling bone cancer for three years.

In 2019, Kevin Feige became Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment and decided to bring Marvel Television under more direct control of Marvel Studios. Soon after the promotion, Loeb left Marvel though had been planning it for months.
