Janet van Dyne is from the Marvel Cinematic Universe series What If...?.

Janet van Dyne is the wife of Hank Pym and the mother of Hope van Dyne. While trapped in the Quantum Realm, Janet contracted a quantum virus that turned her into a zombie. When Janet returned to Earth she spread the quantum virus and started the zombie apocalypse.

Biography[]

Thirty years ago Janet van Dyne was trapped in the Quantum Realm. While there, Janet contracted a quantum virus that corrupted her brain and turned her into a zombie. In the present Hank Pym discovered that Janet was in the Quantum Realm and traveled there to rescue her unaware of her fate. Hank was overcome with joy to be reunited with his wife. However, Hank's joy soon turned to horror when he saw that Janet was now a zombie. Janet then pounced on Hank and bit him which infected him with the virus and turned him into a zombie. As Janet and Hank returned to Earth, they attacked Scott Lang, infecting him with the virus. However, Hope was able to shrink down and fly to safety before she could be infected. This eventually lead to most of Earth's population being infected with the quantum virus and being turned into zombies.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Janet van Dyne is played by Hayley Lovitt in Ant-Man and by Michelle Pfeiffer in all subsequent appearances.
