Biography[]

Hulk lived at a nursing home that was run by M.O.D.O.K.. This nursing home also homed several other elderly heroes and villains. When Logan was dropped off at the nursing home by his son Daken a fight broke out between the heroes and the villains. However, the fighting stopped when Daken walked back into the room. When Daken saw the fighting, he realized that this wasn't a good place for his father and tried to take him home. However, they were stopped by M.O.D.O.K. who said that no one could leave without his permission. As M.O.D.O.K. continued to talk Hulk placed a pillow over his face and seemingly suffocated him (it was later revealed that M.O.D.O.K. was just temporarily passed out). Hulk and the other elderly heroes then moved to Miami. ("Grumpy Old Man Logan")

Background[]

The action figure used for Hulk in "Grumpy Old Man Logan" was actually a figure of Maestro from the Marvel Legends toy line. In the comics Maestro is a possible future version of Hulk from 100 years in the future. In this timeline Hulk became ruler of Earth following a nuclear war that devastated the planet.

In the Comics[]

In the Old Man Logan comic book story arc all of Earth's heroes were defeated which allowed supervillains to take control of Earth. California was under the control of Hulk's old enemy Abomination. However, Hulk was able to take control of California from Abomination and renamed it Hulkland. He and his cousin She-Hulk had many children, who in turn had children of their own. The family was referred to as the "Hulk Gang".

Hulk would often collect money from the people that lived in his territory. One of these people owed Hulk rent money was Logan. Logan negotiated for a grace period, accepting a job as Clint Barton's bodyguard on a delivery across the country in order to pay his debts. While Logan was away, however, Banner had his family killed.

As revenge one by one Wolverine began to hunt down and kill the members of the Hulk Gang until he confronted Hulk himself. During their fight Hulk confessed to Logan that the reason he killed his family was because he wanted a good fight. Hulk ended up eating Wolverine. Wolverine healed inside Hulk's stomach and proceeded to claw his way out seemingly killing Hulk in the process.

Hulk survived and somehow had his head removed and placed in armor that was powered by the gamma radiation emitted from Hulk's head and protected by adamanium. Hulk tracked Wolverine to a small town and nearly killed him. However, Bruce's son, Bruce Banner Jr. attacked him and separated him from his armor. Instead of killing Banner, Logan buried him and planted a tree over him so its roots could slowly dig into his skull.
