Note: this article describes an upcoming release.

Hit Monkey is an upcoming series from Marvel Animation. The series will be the first to focus on the character, his first animated appearance, and first television appearance.

The series was announced on February 11th, 2019 at the Television Critics Association press tour. It will released along with M.O.D.O.K., Template:Tad, and Template:Htd each leading up to the crossover series Template:Offenders. This will be similar to Marvel Studios's Netflix series.

The series will be written by Josh Gordon and Will Speck. Gordon, Speck, and Jeph Loeb will be executive producers.

The series will follow Hit Monkey, a wronged Japanese snow monkey who was mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts his way through the Tokyo underworld.[1]

Gordon said of the series, "We first read Hit-Monkey about eight years ago, not long after it was published, and we were immediate fans. To us it's one of the best origin stories for any Marvel character ever."

Speck added, "When we met with Jeph and everyone at Marvel, we could tell right away that they just wanted to make something that swung for the fences. That's all you’re looking for, partners who want to make the weirdest stuff possible."[2]
