- Helicopter is from the Christopher Yost Animated Universe.
A helicopter, sometimes shortened to simply heli or copter, is an aerial vehicle used for various purposes, including transportation and combat, that is used by both civilian and government groups.
Technology
Rather than a traditional airplane, a helicopter has one rotor on top for lift and one on the tail to change direction.
Helicopters come in a variety of styles. Smaller ones can be used for news stations. Larger ones can be filled with people for transport. Others can be fitted with weapons for combat.
History
Helicopters have been used by government groups such as S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Mutant Response Division.
X-Men members Beast and Wolverine stole a copter from the MRD to transport captured mutants out of a prison. They used it in reforming the team, though it was destroyed by Domino and the Brotherhood of Mutants while saving Senator Robert Kennedy and Warren Worthington II.
Influence
The V-22 Osprey is a combination of a helicopter and traditional airplane. Like a helicopter, an Osprey can make vertical take offs and landings. But once in the air the rotors rotate and it flies like an airplane. Wolverine used an Osprey when tracking the Hulk after the destruction of Elkford.
