Heinz Kruger was a spy and saboteur for HYDRA.
Biography[]
Heinz Kruger was a German assassin who was dispatched to America by HYDRA. Kruger was able to infiltrate the base of Operation: Rebirth and stood amongst a crowd of people as Abraham Erskine explained how the Super Soldier Serum affected the human body. As Erskine continued to speak, Kruger reached into his pocket and grabbed a detonator to a bomb he had planted by the experiment's platform. Peggy Carter noticed this but failed to reach Kruger before he set off the explosion that killed Erskine and several other scientists.
As Kruger ran toward the Rebirth Chamber, he turned around and fatally shot Colonel Chester Phillips. Steve Rogers, the chosen test subject of the Super Soldier Serum, exited the Rebirth Chamber and ran toward Kruger in an attempt to stop him. However, Kruger shot and wounded Rogers. Kruger grabbed a vial of Super Soldier Serum out of the Rebirth Chamber and turned around to see Peggy Carter pointing a gun at him. As Kruger raised his weapon to fire, Peggy shot Kruger and killed him.
