Hanna-Barbera was an animation company that created Fantastic Four and Fred and Barney Meet the Thing. It was founded by William Hanna, Joseph Barbera, and George Sidney. It has also been known by simply Hanna-Barbera, H-B Enterprises, H-B Production Company, and Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Inc.. For much of the 20th Century, it was one of the most prominent animation companies in the United States.
The company was started by several animators at MGM, who mostly worked on Tom & Jerry. Founder George Sidney sold the company to Taft Broadcasting in 1966. When the studio declined in 1991, it was sold to Turner Broadcasting System who used the company's catalogue to fill Cartoon Network.
