Frederick Foswell is a reporter for The Daily Bugle. While undercover, he goes by the name Patch.

Foswell went to work for the Bugle under J. Jonah Jameson.
At one point, he wrote an expose on Silvermane winning him a Pulitzer Prize, putting the criminal behind bars.
He was investigating the ties between L. Thompson Lincoln and the "Big Man." Peter Parker came to him asking for information on Lincoln.
Went to California to cover the shuttle landing of John Jameson and was one of the first to discover the symbiote.
While undercover as Patch, Spider-Man asked him about the Master Planner. He later infiltrated an auction between Big Man, Doctor Octopus, Silvermane, and Roderick Kingsley.
He eventually wrote a story exposing Lincoln as the Big Man.

In the Comics[]
Was the original Big Man while working for Jameson. After being caught, imprisoned, and released he went back to work for the Bugle.
Once discovered that Peter Parker was Spider-Man, but Peter managed to fool him.
After trying to get back into crime, took a bullet for Jameson and died.
