Comic Book Resources ranked this episode as the ninth greatest episode of the series. They noted that it showed how Spider-Man had changed since losing Mary Jane and acquiring Black Cat as a partner. They liked seeing more of Kraven and felt this episode got the most out of his character as he's more than just a hunter and a noble person.[1]
