- When the X-Men catch up to Morph, he is starring in a play adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. This has multiple meanings for the character. Both Morph and Jekyll/Hyde physically transform, go between good and evil, and the evil version of Morph looks like the usual depiction of Hyde. Coincidentally, there is a Marvel Comics character named Mister Hyde based on the book character.
- Sauron tells Professor X that "resistance is futile." This is a phrase most commonly associated with the Borg from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Coincidentally Jean-Luc Picard, who was played by Patrick Stewart, was turned into a Borg in the episode, The Best of Both Worlds. Patrick Stewart would later go on to play Professor X in Fox's X-Men film series starting in 2000.
