Background[]
The story is an adaptation of the miniseries Emperor Doom by David Micheline. The first draft was more faithful, just with Vision replacing Wonder Man but got changed over time. Emperor Stark is a personal favorite story of writer Christopher Yost. Yost wanted to thank Micheline and Bob Hall in the credits, though Micheline was thanked in another episode. [1][2][3][4]
In Emperor Doom, Doctor Doom captured Purple Man and used his power to take over the world. Wonder Man was unaffected because of his unique physiology. He freed Captain America, Hawkeye, Iron Man, and Wasp. Namor ended up killing Purple Man to free the world.
