Comic Book Resources ranked the episode as number six on their list of the top fifteen episodes of the series. They felt it was a terrific sequel to "The Cure", also on the list, that fully reveals Apocalypse in all his "terrifying glory." They noted Professor X's line about not being able to reason with Apocalypse since power is his philosophy. They claimed it was adapted better here than he was in the live action film X-Men: Apocalypse. [1]
