Rhienholdt Schmidt is the son of Red Skull and adopted brother to Chameleon. He joined the Moscow Police Department as a detective under the name Rheinholt Kragov and briefly took the identity of his father while searching for his Doomsday Weapon, becoming the second Red Skull. He became a powerful supervillain known as Electro.

Biography[]

Rhienholdt Kragov spent much of his life searching for his father. After becoming the chief of police in Moscow, Kragov impersonated his father in an attempt to gain control of the doomsday weapon; an unknown aid in which his father believed would help the Nazi’s win World War II.

Kragov reunited with his family

A run in with the Kingpin left him without the box containing the secret information on the project, but after The Chameleon, Kragov’s step-brother turned traitor on Kingpin, he had the box and all the keys to use the Doomsday weapon. After freeing The Red Skull from the vortex, the Red Skull used the Doomsday weapon on Kragov and he became Electro, Living God of Electricity.

Realizing he was now more powerful than The Red Skull, Spider-Man and The Six American Warriors put together, Electro demanded the United Nations declare him undisputed ruler of the world. After Captain America and Spider-Man fixed the Vortex, which kept Cap and The Skull in stasis for fifty years. Electro attempted to bend the vortex to prove that nothing is more powerful than he is. After overpowering the vortex, Electro damaged the controls and was sucked into the vortex.

Spider-Man and the remaining warriors then destroyed the vortex, so neither Electro nor The Red Skull would ever return again.

Powers[]

Electro amazing powers

Electro has complete control over electricity, including firing electric bolts. He can also control electric devices such as television cameras, satellites, and even the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Using his electric powers he can also fly and hover.

Background[]

Electro was voiced by Philip Proctor.

Electro was originally not going to be included in Spider-Man. He and Sandman were planned to appear in a Spider-Man film made by famed director James Cameron and the producers did not want to mess with that continuity. The movie was never made so Electro was eventually added late in the series though Sandman was not.

His origin as a Russian agent who was in an experiment to battle Captain America is influenced by the second Electro named Ivan Kronov. He was the second Electro, after an unrelated robot, who was created by Marvel Comics' predecessor Atlas Comics.

In the Comics[]

Electro was named Maxwell Dillon.

Max was a former electronic engineer and lineman who was fixing a power line when a freak accident with lightning struck him, giving him electrical powers.

He was a member of the Sinister Six.
